(in search of illustrated treasure)
En busca del tesoro ilustrado es un pequeño proyecto personal, llámese arte urbano, arte efímero o pasatiempos urbano.
¿Cómo surge la idea?
Hice imanes para la nevera con una de mis ilustraciones para regalar a unos amigos. Compartí en redes el resultado. La gente tuvo una respuesta muy positiva y me escribieron para ver como podían adquirir uno. Entonces me dije…¡Que pereza andar quedando con la gente y enviando por correos!. Venderlos por otro lado era una opción muy suculenta pero…¿No es más divertido que se los tengan que ganar? y así se fue gestando la cosa.
Básicamente consiste en que creo imanes con algunas de mis ilustraciones, luego las coloco por la ciudad sobre superficies metálicas. Una vez elegido el lugar tomo una fotografía y la subo a mis redes sociales (instagram en este caso). Es en este momento, cuando mis amigos y seguidores de la página pueden ver la ubicación y comenzar la búsqueda. La idea es sencilla, quien lo encuentra se lo queda. A veces la foto deja ver claramente donde está, otras lo complico más ijijij. En muchas ocasiones ni siquiera son encontrados por seguidores…simplemente alguien pasa por allí le gusta y se lo queda. Me gusta pensar que es una especie de arte urbano 2.0 que además de efímero, no causa daño en el entorno urbano ni en el mobiliario público. Lo cierto es que suelen volar rápidamente por lo cual, hay que andar atentos para su búsqueda y captura.
Otra variante del juego consiste en que coloco tan sólo 10 imanes con una ilustración concreta. Los que lo encuentran han de mandar una foto del mismo, en el lugar que atestigüe la captura. Una vez terminado el juego hago un sorteo entre los ganadores. Quien gana se lleva un retrato personalizado que entrego en formato digital.
Cada vez hay más diseños diferentes, hasta el punto en que se deciden por votación popular las ilustraciones que terminarán por ser parte de la colección de los participantes (si los encuentran claro jijiji).
Casi siempre suelo «esconder» mis creaciones por mi ciudad y su entorno (A Coruña), aunque trato de ir ampliando el juego a más ciudades. Lugo, Vigo, Madrid, Valencia, Málaga, Miami, Hai Phong, Hanói (Vietnam), Ginebra, Paris, New York o Barcelona ya se han sumado a la lista.

In search of the illustrated treasure is a small personal project, whether it be called urban art, ephemeral art or urban hobbies. How did the idea come about? I made fridge magnets with one of my illustrations to give to some friends. I shared the result on networks. People had a very positive response and wrote to me to see how they could purchase one. Then I said to myself... How lazy it is to go around meeting people and sending by email! Selling them elsewhere was a very succulent option but… Isn't it more fun that you have to earn them? and that's how things developed. It basically consists of me creating magnets with some of my illustrations, then placing them around the city on metal surfaces. Once the place is chosen, I take a photograph and upload it to my social networks (instagram in this case). It is at this moment when my friends and followers of the page can see the location and begin the search. The idea is simple, whoever finds it keeps it. Sometimes the photo makes it clear to see where it is, other times it makes it more complicated hahaha. On many occasions they are not even found by followers... someone simply happens by and likes it and keeps it. I like to think that it is a kind of urban art 2.0 that, in addition to being ephemeral, does not cause damage to the urban environment or public furniture. The truth is that they usually fly quickly, so you have to be attentive to search and capture them. Another variant of the game is that I place only 10 magnets with a specific illustration. Those who find it must send a photo of it, in the place that attests to the capture. Once the game is over I draw among the winners. Whoever wins gets a personalized portrait that I deliver in digital format. There are more and more different designs, to the point where the illustrations that will end up being part of the participants' collection are decided by popular vote (if they find them, of course, hehe). I almost always "hide" my creations around my city and its surroundings (A Coruña), although I try to expand the game to more cities.
